Just thinking about this topic, and I couldn't find anything on a Google search...
Does dialing a "toll-free" phone number on your cellphone use your minutes?

Yes. I think there are some plans that don't charge for toll-free but normally, anytime you are on your phone whether you placed the call or not, you get charged minutes.

"Toll-free numbers" is a reference to you not having to pay for long distance. It has nothing to do with airtime fees.

That's what I thought. I've noticed companies include a toll-free phone number on their contact pages instead of a "direct" number. I wonder if that process will change given the large number of calls that now occur on mobile phones. What was once a cost-saving practice for your customers now actually costs them AND the company providing the number.

Of course, asking your cell phone provider will be more definitive for you than asking here. A related issue is holidays NOT falling on a weekend. My provider charges minutes on those days, because they are weekdays.

Leave off the last "S" for savings.
