I found this article on MacCentral (http://maccentral.macworld.com/news/2003/07/18/mce/) pretty interesting...
Are there other companies that do customisation like this?

Wow, I want one of those. I'm thinking about getting a 12" iBook, and this would be perfect. Thanks alot. :)
Can you get Applecare for such a system? I'm wondering whether Apple would ever even consider fixing an iBook once they find out that it comes with a DVD-RW drive. :confused:

That's cool! I can't believe they aren't charging more than the stock configurations. As already stated, my only concern would be it voiding the warranty.

Hrm, I doubt AppleCare would cover you, but I have no doubt that kemplar would offer some sort of insurance.
