Errors in disk utility

Okay here's the deal im trying to install tiger on my new used g4 cube. I screwed up the first tiger disk so i had to borrow one from a friend of mine and just made a disk image of it. Im trying to restore the first disk to a very small partition on my hard drive but it will not let me. Its giving me errors like error 16 and error 2 and error 19. Anyone know whats going on?

Sounds like general data corruption, but have you tried Googling for the those errors codes to see what that turns up?

Is the partition big enough to house the disc image ?

What kind of computer are the restore discs for? Apple's restore discs are specific to the type of the computer they were packaged with. If you didn't get restore discs for a G4 Cube, chances are it won't work at all, no matter what you do.

The Discs are not upgrades nor restore cd's full retail versions.

Yeah its a little over about 5.5 gigs 😀, the image is 663mb.

Nvmnd got it fixed. I just skipped the checksum and worked fine.

I can't help but think that's not the best way to handle that situation -- the checksum is likely there as way of ensuring you're getting the data you asked for. A bad checksum should be an alert that some of the data is corrupt...skipping it would just put you in an "ignorance is bliss" state until you happen across the corruption.
