Why is my Wii glowing?

(Nintendo, thank you calling your console Wii! :D )

Anyways, I just went downstairs to get a fresh glass of Murphy's when I noticed that the Wii has a pulsing blue glow emanating from the disc tray. Excuse my ignorance, but what does it mean?

(I cant turn it on since my dad is engrossed by 'America's Got Talent' on ITV2!)
