Does it display properly? For some reason the audio is out of sync & video does not display properly, I have two thick border lines on the left & right.

I don't have any Friends episodes, or an Apple TV, but for the audio issue, try restarting your Apple TV - this happens occasionally on my Mac and killing FrontRow and iTunes usually fixes it.

Doesn't left and right video borders just mean it's not widescreen? I get that on my Mac with Lost episodes.

"Pillar Boxes" is when you are displaying 4:3 on a 16:9
