safari PDF issues

Hey everyone,
Randomly a few weeks ago my safari will not open PDFs in browser like it used to. It pops up sometimes and asks what program I want to use to view the PDF, but I do not know which program to choose, if there is any. Any help on getting this weird issue fixed would be greatly appreciated.
 
I think you might need to have "open safe files after downloading" selected in the "general" section of the preferences.
 
that didnt help. It already was selected. Sometimes when I try and open a PDF in the browser a select the program you want to use pops up, which program does safari use to open the PDFs?
 
back in 10.3, preview would open any pdf link selected, but in 10.4 safari itself opens the pdf, which I never liked but got used to.

I really can't think of why safari is asking this, sounds more like default firefox settings.

Are we talking about safari 2.0.4 or 3.0.2 (beta)?

I'm running the beta with no problems, perhaps just try the new one and see if the pdf issues persist.
