View Full Version : Page 2 and MacPolls RSS/XML Feeds

MacRumors
Jul 23, 2003, 12:45 AM
MacRumors' Page 2 (http://page2.macrumors.com) and MacPolls.com (http://www.macpolls.com) now sport their own RSS Feeds, allowing users of RSS Readers, such as SlashDock (http://homepage.mac.com/stas/slashdock.html) and NetNewsWire (http://ranchero.com/netnewswire/) to follow updates to these sites.

Page 2 compiles Rumors and News of lesser interest or reliability. Recent articles include PowerBook Plans, iMac Updates in September, and the possibility of a Bluetooth mouse this Friday. The RSS feed can be found here:

Meanwhile, MacPolls.com offers daily polls on mac related topics.

This is great, arn. I'm glad to see MacRumors making good use of RSS.

This might not be possible, but another cool thing would be the ability to subscribe to specific threads via RSS, as an alternative to email notification.

I hadn't ever heard of RSS or SlashDock or anything of this until this thread. Now I don't even have to open a browser to check out MacRumors and Slashdot. Like I didn't spend too much time here already.:D

Yea NetNewsWire is fine and dandy, but you can't load RSS feeds onto your iPod.

Ah ha! Pod2Go (http://www.kainjow.com/pod2go) can do this! Go check it out it's free and there's tons of sweet stuff besides RSS feeds (includes over 300 hand-picked feeds).

(yea self advertising but I'm allowed to!)

I'll second that emotion. :)

Oh, and these seem to be working flawlessly. Thanks, Arn.

Any particular reason why the RSS feed is way behind the front page?

Currently the RSS feed is on, "Apple Targeting PC File Traders with New Internet Ads" while the front page is on "Virginia Tech Supercomputer Ranks #4". That puts the RSS feed 2 stories behind the front page.

I'm using http://www.macrumors.com/macrumors.xml
