curious: is there a way to optimize RAM and what's PRAM?

This is just a question that I was wondering so please don't get all worked up if it is way out there. I was wondering if there is a way to optimize RAM or free up RAM?

Also, what exactly is pram and why are people always talking about it on here?

No, the operating system already has excellent memory management. The only way to free up memory is to quit programs that are running 🙂.

See previous post for a link to an explanation of PRAM. I have no idea why people talk about it all the time on here. It only rarely needs to be reset to fix certain problems.
