I have just bought a new sony digital camera and recorded some videos(mpeg) on it but when i came to record them onto a DVD for my dad imovie was no use because the format is "muxed" whatever that is so there was no sound.
I then tried to burn them to DVD video using toast tit 8 but it failed to encode them.
I'm pulling my hair out !!!!!!
All i want to do is record them to a DVD so my dad can watch them on his dvd player as he has no computer.
Any help would be greatly appreciated ...
Thanks Scott

Macs don't do well with muxed files. MUXING is when the audio and video streams are inter-twined.

Get FFMPEGX (free). With it, you can pull out the audio stream as a separate MP3 stream. Then drop it into iMovie under your video and make sure they line up. Be sure to test it, but you should be alright.
