Still Hesistant to instal windows Via Bootcamp.. help.

Well I just got Windows XP Pro from my friend and i downloaded Bootcamp. but still very Hesistant on installing it. I hear fan problems. Graphics problems. some F1 FN Problem? what is going on? And all i want to do is to play counter-strike and some games so i can use the Nvidia Drivers and to enhance my FPS. So what should i do?

What exactly should i download and burn to a CD so my windows side will run smoothly.
And what are still buggy out there and wont work?

Fan controllers?
Drivers?
What else am i missing?

Please if someone that truely understand bootcamp's power. tell me the step by step what i should do.

Cuz i know bootcamp makes u burn something onto a cd so u insert the cd after u install windows.. but i hear that doesn't help either

BTW Its the New Mac Book pro 2.4 160gb 2gb ram nvidia 8600m GT, the good stuff :) just got it about 2 weeks ago.

Dude just install it, the worse it can do is....well nothing.

If you don't like it, just delete the Windows partition.

Make sure you use NTFS when you install XP.

I updated my ATI X1900 driver on my Mac Pro from ATI's site and all is well now. Windows works like a charm, except my bluetooth keyboard and a few other small quirks.

I'm sure the final version of bootcamp will be more problem free. It will be supported by Apple and bugs will be fixed quickly. Apple sees money in this so they'll work their butts off to make it work.

the CD you burn is the Driver Disk, and you do that from the OS-X side.

Install windows
Run the Drivers Disk
Then (Optional) update your video card drivers from the manufacturer...

XP works quite well on the new apples, I have no real problems....

The fans are managed by the computer's firmware, separate from the OS. Of course, OS X has some temperature optimizations built into it, but there is no need for additional fan management under Windows.

As for your concerns regarding BootCamp installation, just read the instructions included with BootCamp itself. If you follow those instructions, you'll be fine.

I had XP SP2 on my MBP running just fine. I used a 20gb partition for it, installed games for when I'm on the road. I can play Company of Heros on it better than on my desktop PC! I only hear the fan when playing one of these games otherwise I don't. Anyway, for normal programs I just use parallels.
