You mean moving a file, from an iPod to a Mac that doesn't have the file on it?

I'm not sure how to just move, but OS X will always copy instead of move when it is dealing with two separate hard drive/partitions. Try holding down "ctrl", or "alt", or "command" when dragging the file.

Yeah the "command" key also known as the Apple Key works. Not sure about dragging from an iPod though.

If you're using the iPod in disk mode, it should work. The operating system allows for a move (instead of a copy) across volumes, including network or external volumes.

yeah, it was the hold down command key while dragging and it worked.
im confused why they didn't have an option when you ctrl+click or drag it via the right mouse button.
is there a resource that I can look up for other "commands" that I may have not known about...?
thanks.
Sounds like you want your Mac to be like Windows.
