buying a mbp in los angeles... do they really scan student ids?

typical story, im a poor, post grad, in need of a mbp for work. What are my chances that they'll do a thorough screening of my college history?

Nope.

Especially not if you order online. Then they don't even require proof.

if you don't have your student id on you, they'll ask for your school zip code.

If you order online they do random follow-up checks but the likely hood is very low. In store all they need is to see your student ID.
