Hi Everyone,

I hope I'm not starting a post I'm not suppose to. :( But I was wondering if anyone knows how I can show the desktop in Jaguar with one click. Can't seem to find a desktop icon on my dock.

Thanks for your help.

p/s. Can't wait till Panther is out of her cage (sorry for the pun). :p

open your Home dir, then drag the Desktop folder to your dock.

I believe this is what you're looking for?:

^_^ Enjoy! While it doesn't have a f-# hotkey like in Panther, it has a menubar icon that's good enough.

Especially for a newbie, the last thing you want to do is run the Panther beta. Panther should be out mid-September; get it then.

You can also Option+Click on any visible desktop, it will hide your current App, and make the Finder Active. Also works with other apps.

Panther isn't going to be out till December. The only clue we got as to its release date was when iChat AV will become final, and that will be together with the release of Panther at the end of the year. If it comes out in September, I'll be pleasantly surprised by the timing.

Panther is Apple's next operating system version 10.3 for those in this thread who weren't aware of it. It includes a really fancy feature called Expose which at the click of a button on the toolbar or a mouseover to a corner of the screen hides all windows and lets you go straight to the desktop. Visit http://www.apple.com/macosx/panther/ for a preview on the web of upcoming Panther features.

Didn't know about that one, it'll be very useful indeed. Thanks!
