Hi All
Besides an almost perfect machine running Vista an a 17" MBP (latest edition) has anyone come across a hard drive activity light for either sidebar or task bar?
cheers

Dang... I found [and installed] a little menubar utility, and now I can't find where I hid it....

In practice, I've found a hard drive indicator to be somewhat unnecessary with the new MBPs. Most of the time, you can hear the hard drive being accessed, so there's not much of a use for a software indicator.
Aside from that, the HDD indicator from here (http://feebdack.com/blisterws) should do the job just fine.

I found a little program called TinkerTool that puts a HD activity light on the menu bar.
It has some other little toys, but the HD light is the only one I use..
OP was asking for use on Vista, not OS X. At least that's how I interpreted it, anyway.

The one I have works in OSX and under PARALLELS .. should work just find with boot camp...as OSX is monitoring the drives all the time

Do a search for MenuMeters.. I believe it's in the downloads section of Apple's website.. it has all sort of menu based lights that are really low on the CPU and are great.. been using it for months..

I use DriveGleam. Hard to find, but it works with XP and Vista.
