Inspired by another thread where the Rigzernator commented on not looking forward to H3, and others sharing similar opinions, I'm wondering then - what games are you going to get at this present time.

I realise things change, and often a game were hoping for turns out to be a turkey and we dont buy, but without the benefit of hindsight - what are you going to get this year.

For the maybes and obvious questions people might have...
I've never played Battalion Wars so I'm unsure, but I'm interested.
I was not impressed with Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles at E3, but I enjoyed the few minutes I played of Ghost Squad were fun, I just don't if it can keep it up, so I'll wait for reviews.

Mario & Sonic didn't seem to have anything I hadn't already done in Rayman Raving Rabbids or Wii Sports, and no online play. So, I'll wait for reviews.

Ugh, I'm going to be poor.

Buying games has gotten too expensive for me, now that I am trying to save for a house, every $50-$60 adds up.

We have a Wii and a 360 at my house, but I don't play the Wii and don't buy games for it.

Call of Duty 4 (It's a wait and see for me. I can't imagine CoD-style gameplay for a game that should be done in the way of Battlefield 2)
Mass Effect (I totally missed out on the KOTOR games and Jade Empire. They sound like action-oriented RPG's which is the only RPG's I can get into these days.)

Half Life Orange Box (Getting it for the PC most likely to play with friends)

At least the new house already has money budgeted for upgrading the entertainment center so we might finally get an HDTV (not that it matters for games since the Wii will probably be relegated to a smaller TV in the game room, at least it will be a 35" and not the 20").

Interestingly enough....during a Phil Harrison interview, he talked about bringing such games to PSN to widen the scope. Like games that were never released, only released in certain regions, or just did okay as a regularly priced game, etc - such games could do decent at a marked down price available for download. We'll just have to wait and see.

what? dude seriously.... the game was perfect (well near, framerate issues and the camera could be a little annoying). Having no normal enemies was an excellent choice by the dev, it would have just added filler to the game. It was a puzzle game much more than an action/adventure game imho.

For those of you who have both a PS3 and an Xbox 360, why would you wantr to get GTA IV and Assassin's Creed for the Xbox over the PS3?

^Its been seen that the 3rd party do games a little better on the 360 because it is easy to develop for then they just port it over. I think it might be different for AC, CoD4, Jerico etc..because these games are in development at the same time and not just porting over.

We might see no difference this time except extra content and fanboism.

Well GTA IV I am getting on my 360 because I may want the extra content (depending of course on how much M$/Rockstar decides to rape me for it).

But I am getting Assassin's Creed on my PS3, against my better judgment since Ubisoft can't seem to make a decent PS3 game yet, just because I prefer my quiet PS3 to my jet engine powered 360.

I'll be getting both Assasins Creed and GTAIV on the 360 I think, unless somthing dramatically changes.

Both Assasins Creed and GTA IV have till now basically been shown on the 360 platform with little seen of their PS3 builds.

If developers feel the 360 version is the one they want to show off, that says to me - that's the one they are pushing.

Therefore 360. However I will wait till a review of both, however like sikkinixx says Ubisoft havent exactly been kind to ps3, and therefore it is plausible we might not see the PS3 version of Assasins Creed for a month or two after PS3, as all their titles so far have launched after the 360 version.

The IGN and Joystiq guys were saying that at E3 all the multi-platform games were running on PS3's at the Sony events (and on 360's at MS events) and they all worked and looked just fine. I took that as maybe a sign that the crappy port days are near their end?

I'm going with 360 versions because of the better controller, Achievements and Live (when I find a game worth playing online - Halo 3, could that be you?).

I bought Paper Mario today :) Great little game. I've fallen in love with that art style, just got the hammer and faced off against that corridor of Goombas. I thought the Wii was broke when the veranda flickered on and off :p

Yeah it wasn't on my list of games to pick up, but if it gets ok reviews I may give it a try.

My worry is the game will be Max Payne / FEAR syndrome. Shooty shooty slow mo fun at the start, followed by hours of repititious crap .....

Found out and spent a few months in college wishing I'd never seen that movie as I was doing that drink a lot :) Has been hard seeing Chow Yun Fat in movies lately after those peak days of his...

Oh yeah baby, Hard Boiled in its full HD glory(I think you actually get a seperate blu-ray for the movie). I'm not expecting much from the game...shoot shoot bang bang and that can be beautiful as well.

Metroid Prime 1&2 most certainly did not suck. It's just as you said, they're not your cup of tea; that doesn't mean they sucked. Prime 1 didn't get ranked #1 best game on Gamecube on many sites for nothing.

I have a few wishes for Prime 3. That it's level design is more like Prime 1, that it's as hard as Prime 2 and that the X-ray and infrared visors return :) and that they drop that ¨mega¨ jump from Prime 2.

If by mega jump you mean screw attack; it's still in there. You can see it being used in the trailer that was put up the metroid preview channel here in the US.

The screw attack is awesome in 3D. I agree with the others. I hope there are more bosses. Prime 1 had barely any.

But to me, it was an awfully boring game. Running around from one area all the way back to another, annoying jumping mechanics, lock on shooting, rolling around in a ball, etc just did not do it for me. Graphics were pretty though.
