Firewire Problem

Suddenly my Firewire seems to not be working on my iMac G5. I have my external HDD and iPod using each of the ports. Neither one mount on the desktop and iTunes does not see the iPod. The iPod however still gets a charge when connected.

I already ran a hardware test (all passed), unplugged the Mac for a minute, tried another user account, and still nothing. Profiler shows that FW is available but nothing is connected.

Any suggestions?

Have you tried resetting the SMU (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301733)? :)

I'll give that a go when I get home from work tonight :)

I'll also add that both FW devices work on my sons G3 iMac just fine. I had to try it to eliminate a device problem.
