new email address - iTunes Music Store

Alright, perhaps someone has some insight on this. I need to change my email address on my Apple ID for buying things through the music store. As far as I can tell this will create a new login ID for me, but won't this render my current purchases useless becuase it will be looking for authorization from a different user name?

I believe that the purchases are tied to your computer, not your email address. Also, if you're just changing the email address in an existing account it shouldn't affect anything. At least that is my take on it.

I'm not too sure, but I thought it was linked to that specific user name. Maybe it's linked to your real name?

Does anyone know of any type of customer service that I can get in contact with about this. I've looked but can't find anything.

It doesn't render your current purchaces useless, all the info is still the same, just your e-mail is different, I just did it a few days ago, no problems.
