My phone company is about to start charging for their DSL modem. This is only going to be around $5 a month but I know in the long run that it would be cheaper to purchase one instead of "renting" one. Anyone have any suggestions on which one I should look into or is there anything that I should think about before I decide on one?

Do you have Cable?
Do you have a regular phone line?
those are the questions?
