Mail Status Icon - How?

I'm trying to get a status icon on my finder bar to easily click to open the mail app (smilar to the airport and display icons). Can this be done and if so, can someone please show me how?:confused:

Don't think there is one. Why not just click the mail dock icon to launch mail?

Yeah, I never really saw the point, since it's in the Dock and displays unread messages, but if you want one, here (http://www.burgundylogan.com/MailUnreadMenu/) is an add-on that will give you that functionality.
