Hello fellow Mac friends,

I have a 17" PowerBook and am wondering if I can use a standard projector with it to display a presentation in Keynote. Do I need any special adaptors or dongles?

If I can use one, is there anything special I need to do to get it (keyboard combo's, etc.) to get it to display?

Thanks in advance,

Most digital projectors have a standard video connection - just make sure you have the right adapter and you shouldn't have a problem. I've used my 15" PB with projectors plenty of times.

Also, you'll have the choice to mirror displays or use the projector as a second display - go for the second display option (its the default). Just open up the system prefs->displays and click on the find displays button.

Make sure to bring the DVI-VGA adapter that came with your 17". The current PowerBooks all have DVI out (for LCD screens and projectors) but some older projectors use VGA.
