Remakes coming for DS, not sure of the time frame right now.

Interesting.

Dragon Quest IV was my favorite Dragon Quest Game. The storytelling was very good for its time. I liked Taloon/Torneko a lot. I haven't played it in years. I wanted to play it again so a DS upgrade could freshen up the experience for me.

I never played Dragon Quest V and VI.

Do we know if the DS remake will be translated for regions outside of Japan?

All the Dragon Quest Love aside, Square-Enix should really come up with new Franchise or give some attention to some of their lesser known franchises.
