I want to install a blog here (http://homepage.mac.com/kenrohde/alpha/whatsnew.html) .
I dont want it to take too much space and it would be nice if it could use the CSS that is already included with the site. Do you have any suggestions as to what blog I could use. I do not have MySQL, only PHP and I think Perl although im very rookie with that.
Thank You

try phpbb.com or movabletype.org (phpbb is more of a bulletin board system).. also blogger.com...
hope that helps

yeah, I know blogger.com should work with .mac pages...although recently they've been changing stuff around now that google bought them.

moveable type rocks. it's very customizeable, but can be hard to set up. i'm not quite sure if you are allowed cgi-executables on .mac. if not, you are gonna have a helluva time trying to get it to work. i had to use this tutorial (http://lawver.net/geek/geeked/002212.php) to get it running on my powermac using a free dns from no-ip.com. i also found how to install it using mysql here (http://www.kirksamuelson.com/webdev/archives/000015.html), but i did not try it.

.Mac doesn't even have FTP access, so you wouldn't even be able to upload your posts a la Blogger style. Which is arguably the most no-nonsense approach to blogging.
But they might have changed their technology, I'm not 100% certain.
I would suggest something like http://www.blogspot.com/
And then maybe use frames or an iframe to include your blog into your .Mac page? I'm not sure what your skill level is, or how much you know about HTML, but it's not the most ideal solution if you don't have FTP access or cgi/php scripting.
Anyway. My .02.
