No, currently the only ones that have 5.1 audio support built-in are the G5s. If you don't mind lugging around an extra component, you could get a Sonica (http://www.m-audio.com/products/consumer/sonica_page1.php) or whatnot from M-Audio.

Exactly what does a 15" PB support?

Built-in is normal stereo sound. Pretty sucky, I know, but if they go directly to Optical out on all the machines they'll be a step ahead of PCs.

Check out sonica's website, they have options for both 5.1 and 7.1 Digital surrond sound using only a usb port. It will work fine since Apple upgraded its DVD player to not convert the sound. So you can get true 5.1 for your PB, with a $90 device.
