Using VLC player for movies on my MAC, anyone can advice why VLC full screen does not work on extended desktop.

Any other good players to recommend?

I think you have to select VIDEO and then VIDEO DEVICE then select the device you want to display the video on. You should not be able to go full screen on the correct monitor. Works fine when I connect my Macbook to my TV.
