HDV to SD DVD

Hi,

I just got my Canon HV20 and had a few questions about the HDV footage. I recorded some footage in 1080i, and imported it into FCP 5.1. How should I export the footage to maintain the highest quality? Also, I'll be burning the footage to a standard red laser DVD. Should I use iDVD or DVD Studio Pro to maintain the highest quality? I want the DVD to play in standard DVD players. Thanks for all the help.
