Colorado Rep. Tom Tancredo’s campaign stood by his assertion that bombing holy Muslim sites would serve as a good “deterrent” to prevent Islamic fundamentalists from attacking the United States, his spokeswoman said Friday.

I hope that the lack of planning and foresight displayed in this statement will eventually adversely effect his campaign.

On a side note, are there any left to blow up? I thought the US had already destroyed Babylon amongst others.

Tancredo was actually referring to sites in Mecca and Medina, not Iraq

He cannot seriously be this stupid. Not only would he be bombing a country that the US has recognized as a strategic ally in the middle east, both for its oil and its position of power, but he would be pissing off about one billion people who we really need to not be pissed off at us right now...

i doubt he's serious, but he's pretty stupid to think that the segment of the population to which he's pandering is big enough to get him elected.

Bombing mecca is the surest way to guarantee that the entire muslim world will unite in anti-americanism and that we will find dirty bombs in every major US city.

Think about if a middle eastern nation blew up the Vatican...times 10.
