Awaiting new MB!!

I finally ordered the middle model macbook with the 2gb ram with a cannon printer, a mighty mouse (track pads don't work well with me) and apple care.

This is my first mac btw so i will be new to the interface however I've grown up on pc and know my way around them. Hoping to leave them forever i will love my macbook, the 260 hours of work this summer was a labour of love

I'm extremely excited. However is there anything i should know beforehand?

Monolingual (http://monolingual.sourceforge.net/) is essential to free up wasted HD space.

I just ran it on a new Tiger 10.4.10 install on my PowerBook G4 with a new install of FCS2 and Adobe CS3 and recovered 1.2 GB of space from the languages pane, 27 MB from the keyboard layouts and 1.9 GB from the Architecture pane.

Total recovered 3.127 GB. On an 80GB HD that's serious savings.

I like to use carbon copy cloner (http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/7032#descContainer_link) for backups, you can set it up to back up your data automatically. Although I personally just manually make a bootable backup every two weeks. Some people prefer SuperDuper, some prefer Carbon Copy Cloner, I suggest you try both to see which you like better :).

If you're comfortable using a keyboard, either program will make using your Mac a lot easier. Quicksilver is free, LaunchBar is not.

sweet! I'm getting mine on august 20th! Were driving down to delaware(live in NJ) to get my macbook tax free and I get a goverment discount since my dad is state police! Plus so far I have worked 40 hrs a week for the past 7 weeks! But my job ends the august 17th(camp counsler) I get paid crap becuase we get 50 dollar tips from the parents but in my sig all I need is one more check but it will be worth 250 so i'll have some stuff to buy like applecare!
