In the past Apple has offered users who bought new macs right before a new OS release a free upgrade to the latest OS. I believe it used to be 60 days (?). Can anyone remember if they did this with any of the OS X releases?

apple usually announces a specific launch date within a month prior to launch. the "up-to-date" program (i think it's a $9.95 upgrade) usually starts from that announcement, and it's never been 60 days, closer to 30.

Can anyone remember if they did this with any of the OS X releases?Only after they announced the release date and for a shipping & handling fee. Won't happen before the September 25 Paris Apple Expo Keynote - if then.

Release time-date is likely 6pm Friday October 26.
