Hi,

How do I repair a disk? I have booted from the Mac OS X CD but it won't let me repair the disk as there are files in use.

Thanks,

Others will be able to help you more than I can.

Need Input: What kind of disk? What has faild?

In the mean time, a MacRumors 68030 ( Durandal7 (http://forums.macrumors.com/member.php?s=&action=getinfo&userid=1329)) just started a site which has nothing to do with modern Mac's (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=33778). It does have some help though.

Bootable OSX CD with Utils.
Go to http://www.classicmac.tk/
Click on Featured Software Boot (http://classicmac.myikonboard.com/viewthread.php?threadid=4)
Its under Recent Headlines on the righthand side.

No fowl for redirecting somebody to a better source of information or help.

It's hard for people to help with out more information form the thread starter.

as a mac user, i usually use macrumors for my main source of info and there is a lot of great info mac users have that mac techies may not have

so i always recommend macrumors as the very first resource for anything to do with mac

as a pc techie, i use experts-exchange since it's mostly techies (pc, mac, and linux) where macrumors is mostly non-techies and mac fans who work outside of the computer industry
