Installing new programs ?

Hey guys,

I just bought the new iMac today(20 inches 2.4) and i'm enjoying every minutes of it. I've a windows guy from my 1st computer and this is my 1st mac. I was wondring, how do i do to install things ?

Each time it installs a .dmg file and another file. It Tells me to drag it into applications, or into my hard drive. I do it and it works. But what do i do with the icons left on my desktop. Cuz both the .dmg and the other file si there...

After you drag the App to your App folder, drag the "other" file (which is the Mounted disk..think of it like a CD) to the trash. That will unmount it. Then you can drag the *dmg file to the trash, too. Done.

Yep, perfect and simple. No need for InstallShield or any of that crap process.
