Hey Guys,

I'm installing Matlab 7 on my computer and it requires me to have X11 as well. However, when I try and install X11 I have the error "You cannot install X11 on this volume. newer software already exists on your computer." Any ideas what I might be able to do?

you should not post same post in two boards

anyway.
take a look at your ~/applications/utilities, is there an X11?

I don't have my tiger disk with me right now, is there a link to the same version somewhere?

Insert the installation disk 1
Goto /System/Installation/Packages/X11User.pkg
Double click to install

oh, that is an Update, lol, try searching around google, see if you can find anywhere to download the X11.

The apple's website only provide the X11 for OSX 10.3, because they think 10.4 users can just get it from the disk...

I don't think there is anything else helpful I can offer for now, sorry

Good luck finding it.

I'm at work so I don't have the installation disk with me right now. Is there anyway that one of you guys could possibly upload the file somewhere so I could grab it?

Someone might be able to upload it temporarily for you (since you obviously own rights to it), but what kind of Mac do you have, specifically?
