www.google.co.nz for me, so I can just hit Home when I want to do a search. I just wish you could customise Safari's Google bar to use a localised version of Google, then I could change my homepage to something else.

Now that I'm actually thinking about it, I suppose I could put Google in my bookmark bar, so it's still just one click away.

None, I don't like anything to show up, and no one offers any good start up portal pages for free anymore, so I just keep it blank and go to whatever bookmark or site that's on my mind.

I still have the original home page set by Apple that came with the Safari installation. I like being able to keep up with some of the headlines. And some of the articles are pretty interesting .. (if not useless :) )

The website of my local newspaper. It's nice to get a quick look at the headlines a few times a day.

Ah! Am I the only one who likes to use the "Safari Bookmarks" as the default for new windows? I thought for sure that'd be an option, although I suppose it technically is not a "home page"...

It used to be Google when I was using Chimera/Camino, but now that I've switched to Safari and it has the Google search bar, Macrumors.com is my current one.

The MyYahoo page is really really good (and free) You can customize news, stocks, your local weather, monitor auctions, local TV, local movies, maps, apple headlines, and a lot more - in fact it's the only portal I know that is easy to read. AND, if you have a yahoo mail account you can see your mail on that page without downloading it or even logging in to your mail account.

CmdrTaco (cocreator of /.) said that people that view the main page as a greater than 30% view have an algorythm set to get less chance at the moderation point pie. Meaning, /. wants you to view other pages than the homepage. The homepage also increases your visits to /. but doesn't add to the 150 SEPERATE page views one must have before even being put into the pot for moderation.

http://slashdot.org/~adzoox/

Side note, I often post some of the more interesting posts from here and comment on them further in my /. journal.

Why would anyone have apple.com as a home page?

It doesn't change very often, and when it does, it's usually to just promote product X over product Y.

Mebbe it's just me (actually, I'm SURE it's just me... hehe), but it seems like it's loyalty taken a homepage too far.

Another person who has the browser open to a blank page on start-up. This is a holdout from the dial-up days when it would take so long to load up most pages. I just got use to the browser opening up to a blank page/

http://www.disturbed1.net/main.php (http://www.disturbed1.net/main.php)

It is supposed to be linked to Disturbed's forums, but went down 7 months ago without any warning. There isn't even an explanation (site under construction etc.) I can't wait until it goes back online so I can piss down some of the mods running the currently downed boards.

I don't even care about the boards anymore, which makes the wait even more rewarding for me when it's over.

but I might change it; I liked the old one better (it changed for 4.5 RC1 for registered users). Maybe there's a way to get the old one back...

Headlines?
The look of the ___ on the main page?

Hits?

Everyother page I open goes to either macrumors or apple

I found some weird program to do that...

Forget what it is called.

Mine is Macrumors. I just like it because it changes by the day (if not hour), and there is always an interesting rumor to read and a board to post on.

Me too. I almost always open a couple of windows first, one with mac central, and one with macrumors.

I use eudora for email not a browser.

I used to have it set to bring up http://www.v-serv.com/usr since that site is too cool for school, but now it is just near the top of my bookmarks.

I find myself opening windows and pasting content into the url field and manually typing a url alot anyway so having anything as a default is one more step to do 20 times a day I don't need.
