I got a spanking new projector. How exciting... but now I can't place it correctly. No matter how I place it, the picture's always skewed, or too high/too low. Adjusting the keystone doesn't fix the skew. The projector's literally not straight, but I don't know how to fix that.

I'd love to hang it from the ceiling, but I live in an apartment and it doesn't allow drilling into the wall/ceilings, obviously.

BUT! There's a pipe directly where the projector'd ideally be.

So I'm wondering if anyone here has any ideas? Could/should I hang the projector from said pipe? And any ideas on how to devise such a trick?

PVC is like plastic, and iron is....well....it's not. Surely you can just "tap dat" and find out.

It feels metallic to me, so guess it's iron.

EDIT: here's a picture (using iPhone)

Looks like the fire alarm watering system. Me thinks no touchy. The consequences of something going a little awry are pretty high. It's not just your shiny new projector that will be hosed...

you could try getting a tall, skinny bookshelf maybe, with adjustable shelfs to let the projector sit at just the right height.
