Hi all-

I'm a former Blackberry user that is looking for a PDA with wireless email and the ability to sync to my G4. I have looked at the Palm C and W but neither of these say anything about the ability to sync.

Do any of you have leads on this sort of device??

Thanks in advance for any input.

Ken

The Palms are good for syncing. I don't know about the wireless email, other than I've heard it's expensive. You could consider the Treo also.

Palms are good because Palm Desktop supports all the PDA features, such as To-Do list and Memos.

I have a T68i phone, it syncs with Address Book and iCal; the Address Book is good, but iCal is pretty much worthless, and the T68i's buttons and screen are too small for it to be a useful PDA.

Another possibility is a Pocket PC device, such as the nice Samsung PDA phones. There is new software called "The Missing Sync" which can sync these with iCal and Address Book. Pocket PC (FKA Windows CE) has never approached the ease of use of Palm, however. For example, updating a contact or a To-Do item is a mistake-prone process that takes several times as many taps as it does on a Palm.

not from personal experience, but I have heard that the Sony Clié Range have it...especially in the higher models

Sony Palm Clie NZ90

I own a Sony Clie PEG-NZ90 which was top of the line earlier this year (Feb). Built in bluetooth, 2 MP Camera. Well just about everything. But no wireless email. I mean for wireless email you need a service and built in receiver. Now I can connect to the internet via bluetooth across to my T68i phone then just browse to my yahoo mail but the graphics make it cost/speed prohibitive and if your used to a blackberry which I also have (Service Through AT&T here in Texas) you just receive mail as it comes in instead of having to go look for it. Your best bet for a palm based solution is to look at the offerings from your local wireless provider. AT&T offers a Palm Tungston W with email service.

As far as syncing with a Mac: I am told that there is palm support for syncing with the Mac although until I receive my new G5 I can't comment on if/how well it works.

Regards,
