Hi,

A friend came to visit me about a year ago.

I remember she had a non-ipod device. It never
impressed me in any way. I donīt even remember
the brand name.

The only thing that I thought it was interesting at the
time, is that one could change the battery very easily.
She said a replcement battery costed between 30 and
40 bucks.

That fact is now relevant to me because
in the last month or so, I have noticed that the
battery of my ipod lasts much less time than before and
I have wondered what people can do in this case.

Can they send the ipod to Apple and get the battery
replaced ?? How expensive is that to do ??

** In my case, the ipod was bought mainly as a tool to
learn by listenning to different materials, so it was not
only meant as a cool device to carry around and listen to
music. It is a nice thing to be able to replace the battery.
I am not a person who can afford to buy a new ipod
everytime the battery dies.

Thank you,

igmolinav.

If you're handy, you can do the battery replacement yourself.

Which iPod do you have? I just replaced the battery on my wife's iPod mini and it took about 45 minutes.

You can find a ton of replacement battery kits on the internet. They usually come with the tools and instruction on how to open the iPod.

Alternatively, you can send it in to Apple or other repair centers to replace it for you, but it will cost more.

Have a look at iFixIt.com (http://www.ifixit.com/). They have guides for every iPod made.

It really isn't that hard. You just have to be careful about what you're doing.

Hey ftaok and Scarlet Fever,

Thank you for your help !!!

I took a look at the recommended link and found this product.
