TV into MBP

Before I buy a MBP, does anyone know for certain if I can run a cable/tv signal into the laptop to capture and edit video? I need to do this remotely from home, in an emergency, for a tv news station I work for. It's the only item I am not sure about, and the only reason I haven't switched from a PC to a MBP.

If it is possible, is there any special video card, software program, etc that I need to do it?

I'm not quite sure what you're talking about but it sounds like a slingbox might to what you want.

I think he's looking for a TV tuner. Elgato makes the EyeTV and others for accessing cable tv on your mac.
