Freeze up when I right-click (MacBook)

Whenever I use the right click in an application on my MacBook trackpad, it tends to freeze up the mouse to the point where it is unmovable. To get around it, I just the arrows to navigate the drop down menu and select what I wanted when I right click. It didn't start doing this until I got a mighty mouse, which does not have the same problem.

Does anyone know how I can fix this issue?
