It's a dark and scary world out there with Microsoft, you sure you want to do that? ;)

Application lock and I'm most productive using OS X.

I use Microsoft everyday. I periodically consider buying a Windows (or even Linux, although my Bluetooth and syncing needs class me out of Linux's capabilities) notebook for my next, although I'm not in the market right now.

@ mkrishnan

so so true.

I actually prefer having / being part of lower market share - it worries me what could/would happen if millions of windows users droped their kit and joined ranks, it really does. I can't put my finger on why but it's true??

You can't go back to a place you have never been.

To be honest, it comes down to weighing whether the benefit of certain things that are easier / more fully supported in Windows (AV chat across all clients, better support for certain handhelds and mobile devices, some specialty software, etc, and the availability of current subnotebooks in the Windows market) vs. the fact that the vast majority of things I regularly do are far less painful in OS X.

A for instance for me is that my Blackberry is essentially fine for syncing and congressing with my iMac. However, if I ever need to update its software, I must do this from a Windows PC at work, because I can't do this on a Mac. This kind of thing comes up honestly at most 1x/18mos, but still... although my next device may well be an iPhone and I'll finally be done with this nonsense. :D

Why even suggest such a thing??

That would be like saying "Hey, Heaven sucks, lets all go to Hell, I'm sure it's better down there".

Hell no... I ain't going any where near that fugly operating system. I'm 14 and I got grey hairs because of Vista. It took them couple years to make XP perfectly stable and they ruined all that for Vista.

The way I see is that PC are incompatible, my mom's school sells Mac version of MS word for dirt cheap and PC versions for like 125-200$. Plus, Microsoft is a volume licensing whore.

Microsoft should just stick to consoles and maybe word productivity.

I got my version of Office for Mac through a Microsoft program at work. It cost me $39.99 CAD. I also bought Office 2007 for windows for the same price just for fun! How sweet is that?

Request: Arn and co. please kill this thread. It's pointless and has no use either as a discussion piece nor a use of storage.

I'm fed up with these threads that only either provoke, spam or troll up what has become an excellent forum.
