Awesome. I will be unboxing mine as soon as I get home -- FedEx guy delivered it just as it was time for me to leave and go to work. Can't wait. Really looking forward to it.

Looking at your pictures made it much harder knowing that mine is sitting in the box in front of my desk right now just waiting till it is time to go home...so hard fighting the temptations to just open it up here!

Luckily mine is sitting at home, otherwise I would be having the same temptations. I'd probably at least open the box and take a look at the keyboard. But that's me, not you.

I did think about that. Was up at one of the VP's office doing something on his last gen 24" iMac. I told him it was in front of my desk and he was asking about the keyboard. Just 2 hours left...

Well it starts with the keyboard. You open it up to tinker around with it, then think "Hm, I wonder how this would look in front of the new iMac? I better open it up." Then you're powering it up, running Software Update, etc. I'm not gonna fake being sick, but I will probably jet out of here earlier than I would have otherwise. Luckily I have work to do to keep it from being a slow day.

All you guys talking about having your iMac sitting in front of you or at your desk makes me envious and sad, because mine has yet to ship still. The estimated shipping date starts today so I'm still hoping, but it's not even "prepared for shipment" yet. :(
Hurry up Apple PLEASE!!

Tell me about it. Even the crap stuff like .mac and the applecare boxes haven't shipped yet. How many computers were ordered over the weekend? Better yet, why doesn't someone actually work on the weekend. :)

Yeah no kidding. I ordered my 24" on Sunday when it was 3-5 days shipping. Now it's 5-7 days. Blah. I bugged Apple to give me two day shipping for free and they said "sure, not a problem!" Guess it doesn't hurt to ask!!

Doing the migration assistant and transferring my info (but not applications since I'm upgrading from a G5. Says there's about 7 hours left but I'm hoping it'll be less than that. :)

Unless you have a mirror directly behind your computer I don't think you will be seeing the back of it while using it... so why do you care?

Seems odd that someone would go to the store to buy a desktop unit, and end up with a laptop. They serve such a different purpose. I was originally thinking about a MBP, but I don't travel enough to justify an MBP, and a desktop is more practical for home use. Last night I watched a DVD (action movie) on my new IMac, and it was awesome!
Also, a friend asked me to pay attention to how long it took me to set-up my Mac, so I timed it. From the beginning to end (including internet connection), it took just over 7 minutes.
