Hard Drive Problem Please Help

whilst doing a hard drive check on my IMac i get this problem..

Verifying volume “Hard Drive”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.

Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
Volume Header needs minor repair
The volume Hard Drive needs to be repaired.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit


1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair

now the problem is that i cant repair it as the repair button is greyed out

any advice please

Of course you cannot repair a boot drive that is in use.

You need to boot from your installer DVD and run Disk Utility from there.

Put in the Installer DVD.
Restart.
Hold Down C key until computer is booted.
Select your language
Go to the Utilities pull-down menu
Select Disk Utility
Etc..
