Yes. jailbreak your phone and install dropbear or openssh. Then install the mobile terminal. It has some issues but works tolerably well and is developing quickly.

I just find it to be a little clunky and unresponsive. Also the terminal emulation isn't entirely in place so display is sometimes skewed.

MobileTerminal was one of the first app's I installed - and I used the Installer.app to do it (that was actually the first app I installed.) It really does work pretty well.
