I have a Dell 3200MP projector connected to my MBP, but the projector is not able to detect a signal. It shows up under the detected displays, but I have not had any luck.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Does the projector work on another computer?

Try to manually set some display options to see if any of them make a difference. Also, tighten the connections to the computer and the projector. I had a cheapo projector that kept cutting out on me because I didn't have it screwed down tightly.

What is the F7 key? Does it have anything to do with projector options? I couldn't really find anything on that for sure.

Doing home cinema my projector has the option to source scan or stay on a single source. I use single source as its a single component cable that carries everything to the projector.

For you it sounds like possibly yours might have had multiple sources? Check in the projector settings that it is scanning for inputs and also try switching the projector through all its possible inputs with your Mac connected and the screen on.

A good bit of fiddling should get it working!!

Hope that helps 🙂
