Weird drop menu in iChatAV

I've not had this occur before, so I don't know what to make of it. Anyone else had a drop down menu in any app look like this?

i get that in iChat too! i think it only started since AV but i'm not sure. just looks like something to do with the screen draw. maybe interfering with the dock or something. i've seen similar things happen in Windows.

This happened to me also. It bugs the hell outta me!! I can hardly see the smilies because of that strange plaid pattern. It even came back after a restart, and I don't know how to fix it or what causes it. I agree with tjwett though .. it's probably something that has to do with screen drawing. And I have also seen similar effects in Windows..

Yeah, I noticed the problem started with iChat A/V, and I sent Apple an email about it awhile back, hopefully it'll all be taken care of in panther.

Works fine here. I'm running AV on 10.2.6, with a Radeon 7500.

well it works fine for me too, most of the time... I just saw this yesterday and thought it was pretty odd...
