motorola s9 Bluetooth headsets question

I can pair them with the iPhone but unsure how to get them to work? I hear music through the iPhone speakers but nothing through the s9s. Is there a way to hear music just through the s9s and not the iPhone when using iPod feature? If so how is this done

I was uaing the s9 with my ipod and forgot it was paired qith my iphone also. The iphone rang and i was acrosss the room. The s9s worked well with answering the call and then going back to my ipod.

Do you know you need a transmitter? I'm not trying to insult you if this is basic, bonehead knowledge to you, but I didn't know it at first. I was going to buy the S9 and then after reading more, and reading the auctions as well, realized I needed a separate transmitter to use it with the iPod feature. hope this helps~
