Feeler/FS: 30' Apple Cinema Display (ACD)

I am thinking of selling my 30' ACD because it is not the monitor for a programmer. (It is just too damn big :) )

It is 2 months old (purchased in June). I purchased it was my mac book pro with apple care (so it is covered until June 2010).

It is in perfect condition and comes with the box and everything that came with it. There are no dead pixels and the display is just awesome)

I am just wondering what I can get for it.

The price I want to sell it for is $1530 + free shipping via paypal or cash to lower 48.

Let me know if this price is reasonable and if you are interested in purchasing the monitor.

id be interested, but thats the same price i can get one brand new for with the EDU discount, and i could get a refurb from apple for $1500.

id consider it at around $1200 including shipping.

Yes but even with the EDU discount I walked out paying $1722 or something along those lines so $1600 saves 122. Perhaps dropping it to $1500 shipped and that'd be a killer deal for that display. Too bad mine is less than a week old, I'd buy it.

If you purchased a different monitor (smaller) I would consider a trade + cash. Let me know if you did and the specs of the monitor.

I think he meant he bought the 30" with the EDU and $1600 with tax it cost him $1722. I just bought the same thing for my dad's business, came out to $1730 or so with NY tax.

And again, reiterating that there is currently one one the apple refurb site for 1499, plus free shipping... applecare notwithstanding, why shouldn't i get it from Apple instead?

I saw the deal JurgenWigg posted on apple site. I have dropped the price to $1530 + free shipping to 48 states. (I think the 3 year warranty adds value to my package when compared to apple)

Did you purchase the apple care for the macbook pro and enroll the ACD with it? If so, then the ACD won't have apple care if you sell it alone, if i remember correctly.

yes thats how I purchased it. I wouldn't see why the warranty wouldn't carry over if the monitor switched owners. I had to get my mac mini repaired before and all apple does is check the serial number, I would assume the same for displays.

Buts yours is enrolled as a bundle. I think it's possible the Applecare will not transfer.

If you sell it with the Applecare, you have to contact Apple and transfer over the name, address everything. True, they only check the serial at the genius bar generally. But sometimes, they check the name, etc, too.

My MBP has Applecare on it but not under my name, since stupid COMP USA doesn't have any record that I purchased THIS particular MBP and that my receipt isn't just for another one. And Apple hasn't budged on this for me.

I would guess around $20.00-35.00. it is around 30lbs and I would ship UPS ground.

I'd ship Fedex. UPS is way more expensive for huge things. FYI, I paid about $55 to UPS to ship a 20'' monitor, so your guestimate is off. The large physical size bumps the price up. Fedex was about $30 for the same.

Fedex is about 10-20 cheaper, but I have a UPS place right near me, so it is more convenient. Anyways this is getting way off topic... Are there any serious buyers or is this just going to be scrutinized to death.
