fan noise: 2.4GHz vs 2.8GHz

Any noticeable difference in fan noise, between a 2.4GHz and 2.8GHz iMac?

Anyone tell if the 2.8 is any louder than the already quiet 2.4?

I will be using the iMac mainly for audio, so any difference will likely matter to me.

If the 2.8 is 10% louder then the 2.4 that would be 10% from 0% because I cannot hear any fan noise at all from mine. Even after a couple of hours of playing wow nothing not even a whisper.

I don't know about the 2.4, but my 2.8 runs silent.

I used to own a PowerMac and it continually made noises. I am amazed at how quiet the iMac is...

The T7700 runs at the same 35w TDP as the previous processors. The X7800/7900 run at 44/45w TDP.

Thanks for the replies; I'm convinced. It's nearly certain I'll buy the 2.8.

Every time I see the new iMacs, I'm continually amazed. I think Apple did a great job.

Think my PowerMac G4 will be jealous?
