I put this in the political forum, because I can see it getting heated fast....

Research in Motion lost the lawsuit brought against it by NTP.

The legal battle between RIM and NTP began in November 2001 when a group of Illinois-based inventors said in a statement of claim that RIM's BlackBerry infringed on eight patents controlled by NTP. The patents cover the use of radio frequency wireless communications in electronic mail systems.

Based on the way they've been handing out patents lately you can literaly clean up if you patented the idea that you can clean your ass with a piece of recycled processed paper.
