200GB 7K200 - $214.99
160GB 7K200 - $288.99
Am I missing something here?

the 160 has Perpendicular recording i think, whereas the 200 doesn't. could be that?

Or simply that the 160GB drive hasn't needed a stock reorder yet, and thus they haven't updated prices.

I was looking at the 200GB one. The price is good. :)

Maybe they are price matching someone else.

Why not buy a Western Digital 250GB Passport and take the drive out from that? That's what I did with my Macbook... cost only $180 at Best Buy. Just an idea...

Possibly because they're looking at 7200 RPM drives while the 250GB WD is most likely a 5400 RPM drive, if it's a WD branded Scorpio Drive-which I can't imagine they'd use something else.

My mistake... I didn't realize they were faster drives. The WD's are 5400.

Not yet anyway. Besides, I think I'm more interested in the new 2.5" 320 Gb drive just announced (Samsung, I think). Only spins at 5400 but it'd be a nicely sized drive for a laptop.
