Trackpad not flat?

I have a SR 2.2GHZ MBP, and I recently noticed that the track pad isn't flat. It seems like there is a bulge that starts in the lower left corner. It is not visually noticeable, but according to my fingers quite quite large. I recently had the fans up to 6000 rpm so...could the cause just be some heat? Or is this a sign of something worse? (Track pad works perfectly, btw).

its not suppose to be like that but i doubt heat had anything to do with it...but now that you made me check mine, my lower left corner is flush with the top of the case, and the lower right corner is about 1/16 recessed, very odd

i think its pretty easy to get to the trackpad, its under the battery, if you take the battery out i dont remember, but you might be able to see if something is pushing on it

An update...a bit left to the trackpad it's also swollen. The swelling seems to be centered right where the left side of the trackpad meets the rest of the case.

Do you think this is the battery? I just checked it and it doesn't look swollen...:(

Edit: Went over the battery with a ruler, not swollen at all.

I'm currently running on power from the MagSafe, and it is still swollen but not as much. My theory is that when I installed Macromedia Studio 8 with five applications running in the background, the aluminum must've fluctuated a bit. But if anyone thinks this is something serious, please, do tell.

Did it just appear or did you receive it like this? If it's pronounced, you should take it in for repair.

I believe it's just appeared. I don't remember it being like this. Then again, there are lots of funny things about the build quality with this laptop. For instance, the part of the body that lies right above the keyboard is bowed a little bit, I don't remember it coming that way either...and this laptop did seem to come with a warped lid and raised keys on the left hand side. So who knows. I am afraid to take it in for repair immediately because I don't want my dad to know, he might get mad. Who do you think is most qualified to diagnose this problem over the phone? I don't really believe in the Apple Geniuses, they seem to be anything BUT genius.

The swelling has already gone down considerably, so I think it's just a heat issue. Edit again actually...now it seems to be the whole left side of the track pad. WEIRD. Got any guesses??

Edit: And now it's perfect. *shakes head*

i had a trackpad on an old HP laptop that did that, it would popup and you could push it back into play, then randomly it would popup again..very weird

I would check the battery in your MBP. Swelling batteries have caused similar things in the past, not saying thats the problem, might just be worth a look. Seems strange with the new model.

Do you think this is the battery? I just checked it and it doesn't look swollen...
