View Full Version : Any hardcore Mac OS X developer sites?

I'm still fairly new to programming on Mac OS X but am fairly experienced with Windows and Unix/Linux programming. I've run into a snag trying to port some C++ code to OS X, and am pretty sure I understand what the problem is; I just don't know how to fix or work around it.
Other than Apple's own developer web pages (which I'm still scouring for hints), are there any other good web sites (or newsgroups, mailing lists, etc.) for Mac OS X software development?

Definitely, try Usenet. There's five or six groups in comp.sys.mac.programmer.* The regulars there - a mix of Apple and ex-Next ("Previous"? :) programmers who are very helpful, even with very specific questions. Sometimes even to the point of writing code snippets for you.

Also, for Cocoa development, try:
http://cocoadevcentral.com/
For OpenGL/Games development, try:
http://www.idevgames.com
http://nehe.gamedev.net (not Mac specific)
Any other questions, just ask here! ;)
Mike.
